Hadlow is a small village on the outskirts on the Town of Tonbridge and is famous for its Gothic Tower located within a Historical Conservation Area. However recent Government plans are seeking to increase the size of the village by over 50% over the course of a very short period of Time in an effort to increase the amount of houses in the Borough by over 20,000 new properties. This is despite statements by South East Water that the Tonbridge & Malling Borough area as a whole can NOT sustain water supply for more than 6000 new properties.
Land designated as Green Belt will be lost in the drive to build houses in central Hadlow locations, which in terms of road infrastucture alone are wholly unsuitable for the increased traffic but which also have a detrimental impact on Services, Health and Education infrastucture currently enjoyed by the residents.
